Sylvie M. Lamarre, Registered Acupuncturist

Sylvie M Lamarre

Registered Acupuncturist

Sylvie received certification in Contemporary Acupuncture for Regulated Health Professionals in October 2016 from the International Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Ottawa.

In October 2019, she graduated with a Diploma of Acupuncture Practitioner, with Honors, and successfully completed her Provincial Licensing exams with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners Association of Ontario (CTCMPAO).

Sylvie graduated from ICT Kikkawa College in Toronto in July 1999 from the Massage Therapy Program. She has been a Registered Massage Therapist and started her practice at the Metcalfe Massage Therapy Clinic (MMTC) in November 1999. Her treatment practices include “desk jockeys”, repetitive strain issues, sports injuries, stress relief and postural compensation.

Sylvie’s philosophy is that she is the vessel to help guide a person back to health. With over 20 years of clinical practice, including the last four combining massage and Acupuncture, she has found that the relationship between patients and therapist is to always be present, compassionate and to offer a safe and supportive environment.

She is ready to dedicate more time to her Acupuncture practice, as she begins her transition away from massage. Although both modalities work well together, she is excited about bringing the eastern medicine philosophy to The Physio Space clinic and believes that treating the whole person is an important aspect of reaching optimal health.

Her interests away from the clinic include spending time with her fur kids, playing golf and x-country skiing. Her biggest joy in life is learning a little everyday whether from a textbook or from the people around her. Her mantra in acupuncture is “less is more”.
