YOUR FEEDING GOALS MATTER. LET'S FIND WHAT WORKS FOR YOU.
Feeding a baby is a learning process for both parent and child, and it doesn’t always go smoothly. Lactation support can help families feel more comfortable, confident, and informed as they navigate their feeding journey.
At The Physio Space and Integrative Wellness Center, our lactation consulting services provide evidence-based support for a wide range of feeding concerns. Whether a family’s goal is breastfeeding, chestfeeding, pumping, bottle feeding, formula feeding, or a combination, our lactation consultant works together with parents to find an approach that fits their needs.
There is no single right way to feed a baby. The goal of lactation consulting is to provide families with the information, guidance, and practical support they need to make informed decisions that align with their goals and personal choices.
While many healthcare providers offer basic breastfeeding advice, an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant)provides specialized clinical care for feeding challenges and is recognized as the leading expert in lactation support. Holding this designation requires hundreds of hours of advanced clinical practice and a comprehensive examination.
Think of an IBCLC as a dedicated infant feeding specialist, someone who looks closely at the medical, physical, and functional details of how parent and baby feed together to offer clear clinical insights, physical assessment, and tailored guidance for complex or everyday feeding concerns.
Every feeding journey is different, and support can be helpful at many stages. Families may seek lactation care for:
Lactation visits are designed to be calm, supportive, and unhurried:
Not at all. We support all ways of feeding a baby. Whether families are exclusively pumping, bottle-feeding with formula or expressed milk, combo feeding, or transitioning between methods, an IBCLC provides personalized care for their specific goals.
Try to time things so your baby is due (or almost due) for a feed around the start of your appointment time. If baby gets overly hungry or upset on the drive over, it is completely okay to give them a brief “snack” feed before leaving or when arriving, so everyone stays calm.
Yes, many extended health benefits plans cover lactation services. Depending on your provider, appointments may be covered under Lactation Consulting or Registered Nurse (RN) care. Because coverage varies by plan, we recommend checking with your insurance provider prior to your visit to see what your specific plan includes. Detailed receipts with all necessary professional registration numbers will be provided for reimbursement.
We firmly believe that every family deserves access to compassionate, expert feeding support. If standard fees present a barrier for a family, we offer sliding-scale options on a limited basis. Please reach out to the clinic directly prior to booking an appointment to discuss how care can be made accessible.
